Windows Binding Order Prevents the Datalogic VPM Appliaction from Successfully Connecting to a Camera – Datalogic VPM Problem

Summary

This article explains how to resolve the Datalogic VPM issue where Windows binding order prevents connection to the camera.

Symptoms

  • MX20 using different network interfaces (wired or wireless)
  • Added USB wireless interface

Explanation

When deploying an MX20, we added a wireless USB NIC. By doing this, Windows put the wireless network adapter as #1 on the Windows binding list. Therefore, when trying to connect VPM to a camera, it defaulted to the wireless and failed to find the cameras.

Solution

Check the binding order of different network adapters on the Processor/PC and adjust so the cameras (CAM1, CAM2, etc.) and the internal network (INT1) are first on the list.
