Application Keeps Autoloading in Web Client – Loftware Web Client Problem

Summary

An issue occurs after running a solution file from a Web Client application folder. Subsequent loading of the Web Client skips the application list and loads the previous solution immediately.

When more than one application has been created in Loftware Cloud, the Web Client loads with a list of applications to select from. Solution files can also be run from an application that points to a Cloud file folder.

Situation and symptoms

When launching the Web Client, users would prefer to select an application or solution file to load from a list every time. However, after loading an application that points to a folder of solutions and/or labels, then loading a solution, the solution will continue to load automatically when launching the Web Client. It is possible to switch to other web applications when one is already running, but the Web Client is stuck always launching with the original solution file. The web client keeps loading one solution and eliminates the ability for the user to pick from the list.

Explanation

Once a solution file is launched from an application that points to a folder, that autoload information is stored in the Web Client configuration file ‘product.config’. This causes the Web Client to load the solution file immediately.

Solution

Create a unique application in Loftware Cloud for each solution file. For applications that point to a Cloud folder (such as Instant Print), move solution files elsewhere and place ONLY label files in the folder. This will ensure that an application list appears every time the Web Client is loaded.
