Article #: 11529

This Error Message article explains the CODESOFT error message: “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package…” Additionally, this article also details how to fix the underlying problem that caused the error message to appear in the first place.

The error message generated by the CODESOFT installer.

During installation, the CODESOFT installer detected a file from a previous version that was noted in the system registry. However, it is unable to access the file or files during the uninstall process. This is likely due to something corrupted in the system registry entry, or the key files got corrupted or deleted.

You can find out more about the issue of CODESOFT installer conflicts with corrupted registry entries from previous versions here.

Manually remove system registry references to other versions of CODESOFT or other TEKLYNX products in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products folder. This especially applies to LABELVIEW.

The process for removing TEKLYNX system registry entries can be found here.
