Unable to Create a Custom Template Size Using a QuickLabel Printer – NiceLabel Problem

Target Audience: Advanced User, IT Manager, Basic User

Article #: 13887

When creating a label in NiceLabel Designer, and opening Label Properties, the Paper Type in the Paper menu is fixed as ‘Custom’. The dimensions are grayed out. Different label stock for the QuickLabel printer cannot be specified, causing paper size errors when printing, or on the printer.

Situation and symptoms

The Paper dimensions on the Paper tab in Label Properties are grayed out and cannot be modified. This occurs when a QuickLabel printer is selected in the Printer tab.

NiceLabel uses the custom label configurations set in the QuickLabel printer driver.

  1. Open ‘Printers and Scanners’ in Windows. Click on the QuickLabel printer. Click ‘Printer Properties’.
  2. On the General tab, click the ‘Preferences’ button.
  3. On the new window, click ‘Manage Labels’.
  4. Enter the label name, dimensions, and settings. Click ‘Add’.
  5. Click ‘OK’ on all windows to save the custom label.
  6. Restart NiceLabel Designer.
  7. In the Document Properties of the label, select the new custom label size.
