Unable to Access LMS Files After Cloning Server – Loftware LMS Problem Article
Target Audience: Advanced User, IT Manager
Article #: 13915
Summary
An issue occurs after the Loftware LMS was cloned. LMS labels and files are no longer accessible by Loftware Designer, Automation, Print, or custom software. After the server is cloned, we would expect the LMS server to operate the same way as before.
Situation and symptoms
Event Viewer shows this error: ‘EPMWebDAVPool’ encountered an error ‘Failed to decrypt attribute ‘password’ because the keyset does not exist.

Explanation
The Application Pool credentials create a keyset that is tied to the hardware where it is created. After cloning, the keyset no longer works on the new VM or server. The credentials must be re-entered to create a keyset for the new hardware.
Solution
STEP 1: Launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Click ‘Application Pools’. Right-click the EPMWebDAVAppPool application pool, and select ‘Advanced settings’. In the Process Model section, click the ellipsis next to the Identity field:

STEP 2: Specify the account and re-enter the credentials if needed. Click ‘OK.

STEP 3: Restart IIS.
