Unable to Create New Label After Deleting the Sample Label – BACKTRACK Problem

This article explains the BACKTRACK problem preventing the creation of a new label after deleting a sample.

Symptoms

User is unable to create a new label after deleting the sample label in BACKTRACK 2012. If the sample label is deleted before any labels have been created, the system will produce an error message: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”.

Explanation

This is a software defect.  The problem is confirmed for 2012 and 2015 versions.
