Unable to Connect Datalogic Falcon X3 to Workstation – PDT Problem


This article explains several possible causes for being unable to connect datalogic falcon X3 to a workstation.


User is having difficulty connecting a Falcon X3 seated on a cradle, connected via USB cable to a workstation. The PDT is not being recognized on neither Windows Mobile Device Center or as a Portable handheld.


There could be a number of possibilities as to why the PDT is not being recognized. Here are a few:

1. The USB cable is faulty and is not seating properly into the cradle

2. Microsoft Windows does not have the proper system updates to recognize the driver for the PDT

3. The settings on the Datalogic Falcon X3 does not allow for USB connections to Microsoft Windows (Article 01661)

4. Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center feature is not installed (Driver to install WMDC is in the EBS library)
