This Instruction Article explains how to transfer a TEKLYNX license for TEKLYNX CENTRAL, SENTINEL, LABEL ARCHIVE, CODESOFT, LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW


Prerequisites and steps taken before instructions.

  • Get License # and password if available (written down if possible)
  • SMA # (if current)
  • EBI contact info (to get assistance if needed)


The process of transferring a TEKLYNX license from one computer to another involves deactivation on the initial computer and reactivation on the new computer.

Deactivation is CRITICAL! TEKLYNX only provides a limited number of activations per license. Once you use all the activations, you can no longer activate software with that license. Activations can only be added if the software is under current SMA or purchased within 90 days.

If the license is not under SMA, purchased more than 90 days ago, and ran out of activations, the only remaining option is to purchase a new license.

Important Notes:

  • Make sure you see a successful ‘Deactivated’ message when you deactivate. If not, the activation may not be available when you try to activate on the new computer.
  • If the activation on the new machines does not work (i.e., says no activation available), wait 5-10 minutes and try again. If it fails after the wait, contact us.
