Summary

This Error Message Article explains the Loftware message “The text cannot fit into its placeholder”. This error can appear when a label fails to print using Loftware Cloud API, or when printing a label manually in Loftware Designer.

Explanation

The data from an external database or from an integration payload is too long to fit into a label’s text box according to the text box rules.

When the text box does not have any Text Fit rules, data continuing beyond the text box will cause the error.

Solution

Create a text box tall enough to fit two lines for the given font height with no Text Fit rules. The data will automatically wrap to multiple lines.

Alternatively, Text Fit allows the text to change height, change font size, or scale when the text is too long to fit.
