Save Button is Disabled – CODESOFT Problem Article

Summary

When CODESOFT open an existing label template, the Save button on the menu ribbon or Save on the menu bar is grayed out. Leaving the user unable to save the document.

Situation and Symptoms

User is unable to save a previously saved CODESOFT document.

  • Save option in the File menu is disabled but Save As is enabled
  • The Save button on the menu ribbon is disabled

Explanation

This problem is caused by the “Open documents as ‘Read only’ mode by default” configuration setting within CODESOFT.

Solution

From the top navigation:

  • Select Tools/Configuration …
  • Uncheck the “Open documents as ‘Read only’ mode by default”
