Printer Change in Print User Interface Ignored – TEKLYNX CENTRAL Problem

Summary

TEKLYNX CENTRAL may ignore your request to change the printer because the setting “Load the printer settings saved in the label” or “Load the printer saved in the document” is selected.

Symptoms

When running TEKLYNX CENTRAL, sometimes changing the printer before printing does not affect what printer is used.  We have seen this happen when, in SENTINEL, the setting “Load the printer settings saved in the label” and/or “Load the printer saved in the document”is selected.

Explanation

The “Load the printer setting saved in the label” – When a document is loaded, this allows all the printer settings that were active when the document was last saved to be restored.

The “Load the printer saved in the document” – Requires the software to load the associated printer driver and port when a document is opened.

The above settings prevent any changes to the printing parameters the user wants to make during the printing process

 

Solution

In the Print Manager interface, open the SENTINEL you want to fix, go to the Options tab, and deselect “Load the printer settings saved in the label”
