Labels Disappear After Transferring to a Different Folder – NiceLabel Problem
Target Audience: Advanced User, IT Manager, Basic User
Article #: 13584
Summary
This Error Message Article explains the problem where NiceLabel templates disappear when they are moved from folder to folder in NiceLabel Designer when clicking ‘Save As’ or ‘Open’.
Explanation
In NiceLabel Designer, clicking ‘File.. Save As’, or ‘File.. Open’, opens a dialog form. Right clicking a label template in a Cloud folder opens the context menu where the actions Cut, Copy and Paste can be selected for a file.
After using the Cut or Copy action, then navigating to a different folder, and Pasting, the file disappears in the destination folder. The file does not reappear for the user.

This happens due to one of the following causes:
- The User or the User Group does not have Cloud Access Rights to Read Files in the destination folder.
- The User or the User Group does not have Cloud Access Rights to View Unpublished files.
- Cut/Copy actions in this dialog do not act the same as in File Explorer. Cloud folders are under Cloud Access Rights and Rules.
Solution
Check the User’s Access Rights to the destination folder by clicking Customize on the folder. Make sure ‘Show unpublished files’ is checked.

IMPORTANT: Only use the Control Center when moving (cut/copy, paste) files to different folders.
