Corrupted Database Stops BACKTRACK from Opening – BACKTRACK Problem


This article explains the cause and several solutions for a corrupted database preventing BACKTRACK from starting.


If the BACKTRACK database becomes corrupted or otherwise unusable, BACKTRACK will not be able to open. BACKTRACK immediately opens the database upon starting the application. We have seen this occur during a failed restore.


BACKTRACK opens the last used database when it starts. If the database is corrupted, the program may fail to open.


There are ways to fix this problem using SQL Management Studio, however, it is very complicated and may not be worth the effort.

A easier method is to uninstall and reinstall BACKTRACK. Please make sure that you deactivate the software license first (the program should prompt you to deactivate the license).
