Configure Websites for an SSL Certificate – TEKLYNX CENTRAL Instructions

Summary

This Instruction Article explains how to configure TEKLYNX CENTRAL websites after obtaining an SSL certificate for secure, encrypted connections.

Preparation

Install TEKLYNX CENTRAL.

TEKLYNX CENTRAL Installation Guide (EBI)

Obtain a security certificate and add the certificate to the server containing the TEKLYNX CENTRAL websites.

Instructions

  1. Stop IIS by highlighting the server and clicking Stop.
  2. Remove the website configurations in TEKLYNX CENTRAL.
    1. Run the Windows Command Prompt as Administrator. Enter and run the following: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Teklynx\Common\InstallDB.exe” /mode:uninstall “/apps:UMSS=server,MSGS=server,LABEL ARCHIVE=server&web,Printing Interface=default”
    2. Do not delete or change any database configurations.
    3. On the Web Server step, remove all websites:
    4. Complete the uninstallation of all websites.
  3. Re-add website configurations in TEKLYNX CENTRAL.
    1. Run the Windows Command Prompt as Administrator. Enter and run the following: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Teklynx\Common\InstallDB.exe” /mode:install “/apps:UMSS=server,MSGS=server,LABEL ARCHIVE=server&web,Printing Interface=default”
    2. Step through update database steps.
    3. On the Communication step, change ‘http’ to ‘https’ only in the highlighted URLs. Your server name will replace ‘EBI-TC70’.
  4. Stop all TEKLYNX services.
  5. Run the Command Prompt as Administrator. Run the command “c:\Program Files (x86)\Teklynx\IdentityProvider\ClearIdPDatabase.bat”
  6. Restart all TEKLYNX services.
  7. Restart IIS.
  8. Run a test on the browser using ‘https’ in the URL to access TEKLYNX CENTRAL Print and Administration.
