Archiving Transactions – BACKTRACK Instruction Article

Summary

This article shows how to reduce the size of the Transaction file using the Archive function in BACKTRACK.

Instructions

***WARNING…this process can take HOURS depending on how many records are to be archived.

  1. Open BACKTRACK
  2. Navigate to:  Database Maintenance>Transfer Functions>Archive Transactions
  3. Enter/Select the transaction date cutoff
  4. Click on the “Save Removed Transactions to File” if you wish to save the data that will be removed.  This will allow you browse using the ellipsis (…) to determine the desired destination folder and location
  5. Press the “OK” button when ready
